Heather Majcan, Lead Vocals

Heather grew up surrounded by music with a father and five sisters who encouraged (her) participation in country and gospel harmonies at an early age.

At the age of 2, the neighbors were already making requests! Heather’s passion for music and writing songs has grown from there and continues to be a driving factor in her life.

She performed in High School, jamborees and talent shows as a teen and just for fun jams throughout her adult life. In 2001 she put together a 5 song demo of original music, her song,It Don't Matter, placed in the top ten of regional songwriters. She was a member of the country band, Three on the Tree, until 2005. Because she began to develop the bluegrass fever, she has worked with Dave to bring together this group known as Shady Lane, and enjoys singing the lead & harmony vocals.

Dave Majcan, Bass, Vocals

Dave grew up with music on both sides of the family. He can remember playing his first song on guitar at the age of 6 and has played ever since. He also plays stand up bass, electric bass, button accordion and harmonica. His background genre was always country. He has bent a few strings with Ian Tyson in the 80s at honky tonks in Calgary, and jammed on stage with the Good Brothers. That was a good time, "those guys can party." Dave has been fortunate to meet the likes of Mel Tillis, George Jones, Randy Travis, Dwight Yokam, Reba McIntyre, and Ricky Skaggs at various venues. His interest in the last 10 years shifted to bluegrass after taking in some festivals and getting the "itch" for the driving sounds of bluegrass.
